Ik I'm writing this 2 years after the original post but: tbf this tournament is try-outs for a more elite knight group, so why wouldn't the captains of the magic knights (the 9 strongest mages aside from the wizard king) be allowed to join the group? and if they wanted to join why would they be exempt from doing the try-outs? it's possible they could have been defeated by other members of other groups like I think Langris could have probably beaten Rill in all fairness especially if he just targeted the crystal like he did in the first fight

wait I still dont understand how Asta's team's crystal got destroyed. Who did that? And wasn't mimosa able to sense someone approaching their crystal while still protecting it?

Also, Langris is sick in the head. Not just someone who hates peasants and his older brother, he literally is mentally instable. He should have atleast been bled properly.

they lost in the end because they had the most injury (in case of a draw,the team with the most injuries looses the fight),that`s why he lost,because he is not ready for black form and got injured by it,and Zora was injured too (even with the healing magic,it won`t be any difference) because Asta is unable to fight due to his muscles fatigue and being injured by the space attacks.

Black clover is literally 50% like Naruto. You could see many similar scenes in the series also the characters are somewhat similar. For scene take this ep as a example when asta was about to pass out magna came and he landed on his shoulders then everyone came saying "let's fight together" isn't it similar to when Naruto was about to pass out after defeating pain and landed on Kakashi's shoulder then the villager finally came to acknowledge from a troublesome useless brat to a village hero
